The Hampton Inn Newberry-Opera House (1201 Nance St., Newberry, SC 29108) has reserved a block of rooms in Forest Resources Association’s name to be held until March 13, 2018. Newberry is one of those towns, with wood products manufacturing facilities all around the area. Nearly every southern state has a few towns or crossroads where the forest industry observer can see log trucks and forest products trucks hauling wood to and from multiple wood-using facilities. The Firehouse Conference Center-located across the street from the Hampton Inn-is where all FRA meeting events will take place. Special historic attractions include the Newberry Opera House and the Newberry Firehouse. It’s a true old-fashioned town center with excellent shopping and dining opportunities and entire blocks in which every building is on the National Registry of Historic Places. The FRA meeting will take place in Newberry’s downtown historic district.
